The 12-hour Bharat bandh on Friday, called by 40 commercial organisations opposing the Walmart-Flipkart deal, was called off midway at 12 noon in Guwahati in view on the inconveniences caused to general public.
The owners of all petrol pumps and pharmacies had earlier announced that they would keep their outlets shut on Friday in response to the call of Greater Guwahati unit of North East Petroleum Dealers’ Association (NEPDA). The NEPDA had decided to extend support to the All India Trade Bandh called by the Confederation of All India Traders.
