Guwahati, February 13, 2019:

Member of Rajya Sabha Biswajit Daimary has slammed Railway Minister Rajen Gohain due to his lack of awareness about the issues in the Parliament. The MP expressed his frustration after the Bill seeking to provide ST status to Bodos living in Karbi Anglong was not raised in the Rajya Sabha today.

“We have a Minister Rajen Gohain but he is clueless about issues in our Parliament, so nobody has taken any interest. Thus, our Bills are all pending. Karbi Anglong’s Bodo and Karbi of the plains areas’ scheduled tribes’ amendment Bills are being left out. Our Assamese ‘netas’ failed to do this for our people”, lamented the MP.

Daimary had high praise for Union Minister Kiren Rijiju for looking after the interests of the Arunachali people. “Some tribes in Arunachal are not listed, and the Bill was raised and it was passed. Kiren Rijiju (Arunachal Minister) is always keeping touch with these issues, so this Bill was passed for the Arunachal people”, he said.
