BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev Accuses State Coordinator Prateek Hajela for Bangladeshi Muslims’ Inclusion in Assam NRC

Goreswar, October 17, 2019:

BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev has once again accused Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC) State Coordinator Prateek Hajela for including the names of Bangladeshi Muslims in the final draft.

Dev also mentioned that he is aware of Hajela’s corrupt practices and cases against him. “He conspired against the inclusion of Hindus and instead ensured that Bangladeshi Muslims get their names published in the NRC.

MLA Shiladitya Dev also voiced against the anomalies the NRC and said that the cut off year for the NRC listing should be made 1951 instead of 1971.

He also alleged that former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had appointed Hajela as the NRC State Coordinator with self-interest.

Dev went on to accuse former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for India’s partition and said he did so in order to gain power.

Shiladitya further mentioned that India was a Hindu Rashtra in the past but later the term secular was included in the constitution for which giving citizenship on grounds of religion turned illegal.
