Kokrajhar, August 25, 2019:

In a recent development to the approaching BTC election, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state General Secretary Kishore Upadyai on Sunday said that the party is all set to contest the election.

The state general secretary mentioned that the party has carried out nomination activities in every region of the BTAD to strengthen the BJP party during this council election. He added that the party will contest in 40 Assembly constituencies.

Kishore Upadyai further asserted that in the ensuing elections, BJP will come into power, be it alone or through an alliance.

At the same time, Kokrajhar’s Lok Sabha MP, Naba Kumar Sarania, has informed that he will form a new political party and expressed confidence of sweeping 35 seats in Bodoland Territorial (BTAD).

Sarania’s stated aim is to safeguard the rights of the non-Bodos living in Bodoland.

“Last time we expected about 25-27 seats but this time we expect to win 35 seats, and we will be successful”, said Sarania.

He added that protests and politics are on two different sides and Bodos should understand the issues of non-Bodos and both communities come forward and help each other.

The MP further added that the issue between the tribals and non-tribals will only be resolved if they come forward and work together, and added that the answer to the strife is Political understanding.
