GUWAHATI: Addressing an election rally in Lumding, Union Defence Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rajnath Singh said the BJP, if voted to power, will not allow infiltrators from Bangladesh to reside in Assam.

Singh also took a dig at Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and said that people who mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him a “chaiwala” are today selling and plucking tea leaves.

Talking about the perennial flood problem in Assam, Singh said the BJP government, once re-elected, will do everything possible to solve it.

On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slammed the congress and said that BJP will not allow Congress-AIUDF alliance to fulfill their immoral initiatives.

Yogi Adityanath also said that by the grace of PM Narendra Modi and guidance of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Assam has been able to get back to its peaceful environment which was not visible during Congress’s era.

Yogi Adityanath reiterated that though different initiatives are been undertaken by the BJP government such as free education to children, removal of corruptions, women safety etc, the state has been able to walk on the path of development.
