BJP using money to buy votes: Sushanta Borgohain

Guwahati, March 18, 2019:

Sushanta Borgohain, who is the former MLA of the Thowra Assam Assembly Constituency has been chosen to represent Congress interests in Jorhat Constituency in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections has begun his campaign trail in the Constituency. Borgohain came out swinging against the ruling BJP administration at a press conference held in Demow at 5:30 pm on Monday.

In the press meet, Borgohain said: “BJP has accused the Congress of playing 'suta-kombol' (thread-blanket) politics in the state, but they have stooped even lower. In fact, they are buying votes with money.”

Borgohain also criticized Tapon Gogoi and queried how can Gogoi, who stayed mum over the issue of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, work for the benefit of the people? Borgohain also knocked Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and claimed that he is afraid of contesting from the Jorhat Constituency out of fear of failure.
