Kaliabor, March 28, 2019:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah on Thursday said that the BJP has formed a committee to amend the Clause VI of the Assam Accord to safeguard the people of Assam.

Addressing a public gathering at Kaliabor, Amit Shah said, "During the tenure of the Congress government, no development took place. No development took place regarding the amendment of Clause VI of the Assam Accord since 1985. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi led-BJP has formed a committee on the amendment of Clause VI of Assam Accord."

Shah visited Assam to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP national president was accompanied by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Prabhari Mahender Singh. BJP ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora, minister Keshab Mahanta and other leaders of both the parties were also present.
