BJP will win seven additional seats in upper Assam, claims Ranjeet Kumar Dass

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh president Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Wednesday claimed that the saffron party would win seven additional seats in upper Assam in the 2021 state assembly elections. Dass said that the alliance between Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) will help the BJP win these seats.

Dass said that the BJP will win Titabor, Golaghat, Mariani, Domdooma, Nazira, Sivasagar and Naoboicha seats. Dass added that the congress high command would ask Ripun Bora to opt for voluntary retirement after 2021 assembly polls in Assam.

Dass on Sunday said that he would never contest any election if the BJP cannot come into power in 2021. Taking a dig at Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora, Dass said, “If BJP can’t form the government, I will never contest any election. But Ripun Bora should also make the same promise.”

Dass further claimed that it is inevitable on the part of BJP to clean sweep 2021 assembly elections. He also stated that he is ready to fight the polls with ‘Hengdang.’

Earlier, Assam Health & Family Welfare, Finance, Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that he is not interested to contest 2021 state assembly elections.

Sarma tweeted, “As I have already indicated in several public platform that I am not interested in contesting next assembly election, my role will be limited to contribute whatever I can for my party and for my state. For Assam future we need to have a strong nationalist government.”

In another tweet, Sarma wrote, “Few people feel that I am after some post and position. My only ambition is to see a BJP GOVT with 100+ seats. In my last few months, I want to work for my state as much as possible to have eternal satisfaction. “Janani Janmabhumishcha Swargadapi Gariyasi.”

Sarma further added that his only ambition for 2021 assembly elections is to see a BJP government with more than 100 seats. Sarma also expressed confidence that the BJP will sweep the 2021 Assam assembly elections by winning more than 100 seats.
