BJP's Rajen Gohain summoned to Nagaon Court on Valentine's Day over rape charges

Guwahati, February 14, 2019:

The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court of Nagaon district has summoned the State Railway Minister Rajen Gohain to appear before it on Thursday in connection to the alleged rape of a 24-year-old woman.

Although the Nagaon Police, in a written statement, said that a mutual understanding had taken place between the two parties, the court excluded the report of Nagaon Police.

On August 10, 2018, an FIR was filed against Gohain at Nagaon Sadar Police Station by a woman on 2nd August. Following this, a case (no. 2592/2018) was registered against him under Sections 417, 376 and 506 of IPC. The case has been going on since November 21, 2018.
