It has been a historical day for North East!

The state has been blessed with India’s first longest and Asia’s second largest Road cum Rail Bridge, Cool right?

Development and infrastructure have showed its colours as Bogibeel stood up. This giant creation of human is just not a bridge that joins two banks of a river, i.e. the Brahmaputra and the Barak but the love and most importantly the sentiment of every Axomiya!

Do you want to catch some important facts of Bogibeel?

A total of 5920 crore Indian rupees have been spent in this project. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated Bogibeel Bridge on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Lt. Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The bridge is 4.94 k.m long and has been structured at the tallest length over river Brahmaputra. This bridge will be the only one to be completely made out of steel- concrete composite girders.  The bridge will connect Assam and Arunachal.

Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the event was graced by Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema, Governor of Assam Prof. Jagadish Mukhi, State Railway Minister Rajen Gohain, Finance Minister of Finance Himanta Biswa Sharma, BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary, other ministers and MLAs of the North-eastern states.
