KOKRAJAHR: Dilu Sharma, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) central committee secretary has resigned from the party yesterday.
According to reports, Sharma applied for a party ticket from Mazbat Mazbat constituency in Udalguri district for Assam assembly elections,however, he did not get the ticket.
Instead of Sharma, MLA charan Bodo got the ticket.
After resigning from BPF now, Dilu Sharma is likely to join United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) in a public meeting headed by Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief Pramod Bodo at Rowta Charali in Udalguri district.

Sharma has strong popularity among the Gorkha community in the BTR.
Assembly polls for 126 seats are scheduled to be held on March 27, April 1 and 6.
The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
