TAMULPUR: Prominent Bodoland People's Front (BPF) leader Keshab Rajbangshi yesterday submitted an application seeking a party ticket from No 58 Tamulpur Constituency for the forthcoming elections in Assam.
Rajbangshi, who is sitting president of Tamulpur BPF, yesterday went to the BPF office with his supporters and submitted his application to Vice President of Tamulpur BPF Jatin Sarkar and General Secretary Upen Basumatary.
"It is a memorable and historical moment. From the very beginning of my political life, I have been working for the BPF -- during good times and bad. So, I expect that this year, the BPF will offer me the party ticket and help me to sent in assembly as a Member of Legislative Assembly."

He further added that since Tamulpur LAC is a big constituency comprising various casts and communities, there are many burning problems in the constituency. "I, therefore, have a great desire to solve the problems plaguing the area. I am a hundred percent hopeful that the central leadership of the BPF will consider offering me the party ticket so that I can work for the betterment."
General Secretary of Tamulpur BPF Upen Basumatary told reporters, "Along with Keshab Rajbangshi ex MLA of Tamulpur Chandi Basumatary, Ex MLA of Tamulpur Derhagta Moshahary, BPF leader Rangja Khungur Basumatary, BPF leader Aditya Sinha and Rajen Boro have submitted their applications seeking party tickets. We will send all the applications to the central committee of BPF which will take the final decision regarding the candidature."
Meanwhile, BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary has declared that the party shall be contesting all 12 Constituencies under the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). The party leaders are in discussions with all the political parties -- including the Congress -- to seal possible alliances ahead of polls.
