KOKRJHAR: The Gauhati High Court has ruled that Promod Boro, the newly elected Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) will have to face a Confidence Motion.

The High Court at a hearing held here earlier today also ruled that the new BJP-UPPL-GSP Government will have to prove its majority in the BTC.

This development has come amid the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) turning up the heat on the 3 parties, even as former CEM Hagrama Mohilary has refused to concede defeat.

Moreover, the High Court has als barred the newly formed Executive Council from taking any important decision in the BTC as of now.

The Gauhati High Court on Friday passed an order to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), which was newly-formed by the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) and the BJP, to maintain status quo.

The court further directed them not to start governing the territory yet.
