Assam has just recorded it's 32nd case of the new coronavirus or Covid-19. The 32nd patient is a female from Dhubri district.
Confirming this via Twitter, Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote,
"Alert ~ A woman from Dhubri has tested #COVID positive. She is wife of a #COVID19 positive person who is connected both with #NizamuddinMarkaz, and Athgaon Kabristan congregation in Guwahati.
The number of patients is now 32"
It is pertinent to note here that the last case from Assam, the 31st, is a resident of Goalpara district, and is reportedly a secondary contact of a Nizamuddin Markaz attendee.
Confirming this on Twitter, Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, ”
Alert ~ A person from Goalpara, and secondary contact of people associated with #NizamuddinMarkaz, has been confirmed as #COVID19 positive. The total number of #Covid patients in #Assam now stands at 31.”
Nationally, at least 1,463 fresh coronavirus cases and 29 new deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the number of cases to 10,815 and deaths to 353 in the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The Northeast tally is as follows:
Assam has 32 cases.
Arunachal Pradesh has 1 cases.
Mizoram has 2 cases.
Manipur has 2 cases.
Tripura has 2 cases.
Meghalaya has 1 case.
Sikkim is the only Northeast Indian state which is yet to report a case.
