Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force celebrated 5th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2019. This year, Yoga’s theme is Heart Cure.
The Yoga day at Frontier HQ Guwahati campus was inaugurated by D K Tripathi, DIG (PSO), BSFGuwahati Frontier and 150 Officers and other ranks of BSF and NDRF participated in the event. The session continued for around 45 minutes at BSF Auditorium, Patgaon. D K Tripathi first addressed the participants before the session began.
Moreover, 350BSFpersonnel also participated in Combined Yoga programme organized at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati today from0700 hrs to 0800 hrs. This combined yoga programme was inaugurated byShSarbanandaSonowal, Hon’bleChief Minister of Assam, in the presence of PiyushHazarika, Health Minister of Assam, education minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya.
At Guwahati Frontier BSF Campus, D K Tripathi, DIG (PSO), BSF Frontier HQ Guwahati, addressed participants of yoga programme and emphasized upon making a yogaan important part of life. He further informed that yoga is proven the panacea for making oneself free from stress and tension. Moreover, it has the potential for improving respiration it controls blood pressure and vitality of the body.
Appreciating benefits of yoga in strengthening body and mind, Border Security Force has already adopted Yoga kriya in its physical training session, as it is a proven best ancient practice to meet mental and physical challenges with equanimity. It is now on its way to becoming a way of life for the majority of force personnel. Border Security Force has trained many Yoga instructors from the reputed institution of Moraji Desai National Institute of Yoga and Patanjali Yog Peeth, picking the best from every establishment, to impart training and holding daily sessions of Yoga kriya as a physical training exercise.
The programme received tremendous appreciation not only from BSF and NDRF Jawansbut also from their families who were participated in yoga day. Yoga trainer made the participants to undergo various Asanas likeBharadvajasana, Savasana, Sukhasana, Padmasana, Tadasana, Padmuktasana, Suryanamskar, Anulom-vilometc during today’s yoga programme which was concluded with a meditation session.
Similar programmes were also organized in Sector HQrs of Dhubri, Coochbehar, and Falakata, all Battalion HQrsand Border Out Postunder command of Guwahati Frontier. The aim of observing International Yoga Day up to the Border Out Post-level was to spread the message of keeping a healthy heart and mind amongst the border population with zero cost expense.
