BSF Seizes 5400 'Yaba' Tablets at Indo-Bangladesh Border

Guwahati, January 4, 2020:

The Border Security Force (BSF), Guwahati Frontier on Friday seized a huge quantity of contraband items from the bordering area of Bhatigram village in Mancachar of Assam’s South Salmara district.

The BSF seized 5400 Yaba tablets and Indian Currency amounting to Rs.1.6 lakh during a special joint operation with Mankachar police.

Acting on a tip-off, the team raided a house of individuals who have been identified as Mohd Alimuddin and Sahin Islam of Bhatigram village during which 5400 number of Yaba tablets and cash money was recovered.

The seized items were handed over to Mankachar police station and an FIR has been lodged in relation to the case.
