KOKRAJHAR: Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Promod Boro has greeted the whole teaching fraternity on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
Boro has also paid tributes to former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and all teachers of both Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and India on Radhakrishnan's Jayanti.
Speaking to the media Promod Boro said," Today if our country has improved and we were able to have a better society earlier it is for our teachers."
He further said,"Since the coalition BJP government took office in Assam, we have made some announcements that we are on the verge of implementing."

"The retired teachers will be included in the new education policy because as their 30-40 years of experience in the education department will assist us in developing the New Education Policy (NEP) " adding this Boro urged the retired teachers for their help in developing the NEP.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has earlier said that the state would implement the NEP from April 1, 2022, under which all high schools would be upgraded to senior secondary schools.
Both the state of Assam and the central government are working to ensure that children receive a high-quality education.
It needs to be mentioned that the Assam government has started its recruitment process for jobs in the education department as part of its mega project of providing government jobs to 1 lakh youths in the state by March 31, 2022.
The state government has already distributed appointment letters to 767 candidates in different directorates of the education department recently.
Promod Boro thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for establishing educational institutions in BTR that will provide a healthy and quality education to the next generation.
Earlier in February 2020, Promod Boro handed over appointment letters to as many as 2,160 teachers and non-teaching employees of newly-povincialised educational institutions of the four districts under Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
