The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections will be held on April 4, 2020 and the Assam State Election Commission has set March 18 as the last date for filing nominations.
The state Election Commission on Wednesday announced the dates of the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections. The Assam State Election Commission has called upon the electors of the 40 (forty) Bodoland Territorial Council Constituencies to elect members to constitute a new General Council of the BTC.

Candidates can file their nominations for the BTC elections between 11 AM to 3 PM on March 18. In the notification issued today, the State EC has mentioned March 19 as the date for scrutiny of nominations. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 21 and the final list of the contesting candidates will also be published on the same day.
BTC will go on polls on April 4 from 8AM to 4PM. The date of re-poll has been set as April 6 and the final counting will begin on April 8.

“The nomination papers will be received on all working days from 11.00 AM to 3.00 PM including Second Saturday; however, no nomination paper shall be received by the Returning Officer on a day which is a public holiday under NI Act, 1881,” stated the notification.
