KOKRAJHAR: Biswajit Daimary, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) leader who recently defected to the BJP party in the lead up to the polls in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), today said that the alliance of BJP-BPF shall continue till 2021 Assembly elections.
"Alliance of any party with BJP to form BTC government will be decided only after the announcement of the BTC elections results," he announced.
Addressing the press today, the former Rajya Sabha MP stated that the public should support the party they want to be governed by.

At the same time, he assured that "no violence will occur in the BTC election." Somewhat interestingly, though, a convoy of Promod Boro, the President of the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) was attacked by miscreants who pelted it with stones earlier in the evening today.
Daimary today also urged the indigenous communities of Bodoland not to worry about the Land certificate.
"The alliance of BJP-BPF will continue till 2021 Assembly elections," the former MP said.
He said that campaigning was held even in constituencies where no BJP candidates contested. Yesterdat, Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who has campaigned extensively in the BTC ahead of polls, asserted that this was done to ensure that nobody votes for the BPF. He has also floated the possibility of working with the UPPL and GSP Parties. An alliance with the BPF, however, is out of the question, he has reiterated.
