Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has alleged that the situation in Assam has become worse than it was back in 2001 and for this reason, the current Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal has installed bullet-proof glass in his office.
The Ex-CM said, "Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that they have brought peace in Assam but if the situation is so peaceful, then why has Sonowal installed bullet-proof glass in his office?”

He added that the installation of bullet-proof glass indicated that the BJP government has failed in maintaining law and order in Assam.
He further added that this was the first time that bullet-proof glass has been installed in a Chief Minister’s Office and that neither he and nor Prafulla Kumar Mahanta had taken the initiative.
He said that this means that Guwahati is not even now.
He claimed that the situation might have worsened than it was in 2001 when there was a militancy problem in the state.
