Bye-Elections 2019: Northeast States Record High Voter Turnouts Till 5 Pm

Guwahati, October 21, 2019:

The voting for the bye-elections in the assembly constituencies of Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh is currently underway. Among the North-Eastern states, Arunachal’s Khonsa West has recorded the highest voter turnout till 5 pm.

The voting began at around 7 am, earlier in the morning, today.

As of 4:30 pm, the voter turnout in Assam is 63.71%, Meghalaya’s lone constituency Shella has recorded a turnout is 64.13%, Arunachal Pradesh’s lone constituency in Khonsa West has recorded a turnout of 89.27%, and Sikkim has recorded a turnout of 62.00%.

The voter turnout in Assam as per constituency are-

Ratabari               64.21%

Jania                   65.17%

Rangapara           69.8%

Sonari                 56.1%

The voter turnout in Sikkim as per constituency are

Poklok-kamrang             72.18%

Martam-rumtek(BL)       64.93%

Gangtok(BL)                 44.18%
