Guwahati, February 19, 2019:
Lok Sabha MP RP Sarma on Tuesday commented that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 will have no impact on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding the Lok Sabha election of 2019.
Replying to the question as while the MP did not take any stand against the Citizenship Bill, he replied, “We are not anti-nationals. We love our Jaati-Maati-Bheti and we are working for the betterment of Assam and North East. We have already lost 14 districts, Satra land, and Naamghars so we don’t want to lose anymore. We don’t want to lose the Borduwa and Madhav Dev Thaan as well. The CAB will have no effect on this election as we can see during the meeting at Changsari 3 lakh indigenous Axomiya people participated.”
Sarma said that the party will work for the development despite caste, creed, religion, and area.
