Guwahati, February 12, 2019:

As the entire Northeast is burning in the flames of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the members of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) have stripped half-naked as a mark of protest against the controversial Bill in Assam's Hojai district on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) and All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) protestors have also staged state-wide protests against the Bill. Massive protests were also held in Golaghat, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Pathsala, etc.

It may be mentioned that many of the leaders of these organizations have moved to New Delhi seeking support from different political parties against the Bill. In the same run, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, along with other political leaders from North East, is also approaching the opposition leaders in the Rajya Sabha to encourage them to vote against the Bill.
