CAB will provide protection to the children of Mother India: PM Narendra Modi

Guwahati, April 7, 2019:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took swipes at the Trinamool Congress supremo and Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee and alleged that she is trying to mislead people on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

Addressing a public rally at West Bengal, Narendra Modi said, “We brought in National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam to identify illegal infiltrators which Didi and party members tried to unsuccessfully stop. The BJP party brought the Citizenship Amendment bill in an effort to provide protection to the children of Mother India, who have faith in the country, but Didi is trying to mislead people through lies.”

It is to be mentioned that Mamata Banerjee while addressing a public rally at Dhubri took NRC and the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill as key tools to attack the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In the rally, she had said that the exclusion of 40 lakh people from the final draft NRC as a conspiracy of the BJP party. She also mentioned that the BJP is trying to fool the people of Assam by amending Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, and referred to the lapsed Bill as a 'draconian' measure.
