Call for naming Bogibeel bridge after Vajpayee

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 17, 2018:

BJP’s MP from Dibrugarh Prasanta Phukan has called for christening the yet-to-be-opened Bogibeel bridge as “Atal Setu” in the memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He told reporters that Vajpayee had immense contribution to the Assam Agitation and took the issue to the Parliament as well.

The former Prime Minister was also instrumental in initiating several mega projects in the Northeast in the infrastructure sector, including the East-West Corridor highway project and the Dhola-Sadiya bridge that was inaugurated last year, the BJP MP pointed out.
