Guwahati, April 23, 2019:

The Chief Election Officer of Assam Mukesh Sahu has responded to Ex Assam DGP Harekrishna Deka’s serious allegation of EVM malfunction at a polling booth in Guwahati.

Speaking to InsideNE, Sahu said: “Deka should declare it to the Presiding Officer. Presiding Officer will give him a form where he will have to declare that his statement is true. If found false, action will be taken.”

“There is a process for that. Deka has to give a declaration that his declaration is true and if found false, action will be taken against him. If he gives that declaration, he will have to show by giving a test vote that what he is saying is true. The form number is 49(MA)”, he added.

The Former DGP Harekrishna Deka, who is also a well-known writer, has claimed that the Electronic Voter Machine (EVM) did not register his vote and his vote counted in favor of another candidate.
