Guwahati, April 2, 2019:

People who commute by city buses are about to face problems as the All Assam Public Bus Coordination Committee has decided to implement a ‘chakka bandh’ on April 8 and 9. Buses will not be plying on the two days. The decision was taken by the organization on Monday at a hearing at Tezpur in Sonitpur district of Assam.

The 'bandh' has been called as the Government has not heeded the body’s demands to increase the rent of the vehicles used for election purposes. Moreover, they have demanded that the salaries of the employees be raised.
