Charaideo District Congress Committee (CDCC) caused a major flutter when the national tricolour was flown half-mast at its headquarters Rajiv Bhavan at Sonari upside down on Friday.
The Central government announced a seven-day national mourning as a mark of respect to the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away on Thursday, during which the national flag will be kept flying at half-mast.
To pay respect to Vajpayee, the CDCC too flew the tricolour at half-mast at its office in the morning, but upside down. After a few moments when a few persons pointed this out to the office-bearers, the flag was promptly brought down and hoisted again in proper manner. But not before leaving the district Congress leaders red-faced.
