Guwahati (Assam), Sept 1, 2018:

The Karbi Anglong police on Saturday filed the charge-sheet in the infamous Dokmoka lynching case of June 8.

The 844-page charge-sheet was filed in a court of Diphu. Earlier, the police had arrested 48 people under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code in connection with the case.

It may be mentioned that two friends, Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath, traveling in an SUV, were intercepted by a mob at Panjuri Kacharigaon village under Dokmoka Police Station. They were dragged out of the vehicle and brutally beaten to death on the suspicion that they were ‘child lifters’.

Abhijeet’s mother said there should not be any lapses in the charge-sheet and no accused granted bail. She also demanded death sentence for the accused persons.
