Guwahati, April 6, 2019:

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has arrived at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport in Guwahati on Saturday to sound the poll bugle for the BJP ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

The controversial CM, who is a ‘star campaigner’ for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will address a rally at Hojai in Assam to campaign for Nowgong Constituency’s BJP candidate Rupak Sarmah.

Sarmah was chosen to contest for the seat by the BJP party at the last moment in place of sitting MP Rajen Gohain who has been plagued by rape accusations in recent times.

It is to be mentioned that Yogi has been in a spot of bother recently as he came under fire for calling the Indian army ‘Modi ji ki sena’ due to which he received a warning from the Election Commission.

The elections in Assam will be held in three phases on 11, 18, and 23 April. Counting will take place on 23 May.
