Christmas Greetings Pour in from Nation's Leaders

Guwahati, December 25, 2019:

On the occasion of Christmas, that is being celebrated across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his wishes to people in an early-morning tweet.

Saying that the teachings of Jesus Christ inspire millions across the world, he tweeted, "We remember with immense joy, the noble thoughts of Jesus Christ.”

The people across India and the world have ushered in Christmas by holding midnight masses.

Meanwhile, Chief Ministers of the North-Eastern states have also extended their Christmas wishes through their social media handles.

Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal, wished the people of Assam and tweeted, “Wishing everyone a #MerryChristmas. Let the blessings of the Lord bring joy, harmony, and prosperity to all.”

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wished the people with the following words, “My heartiest #Christmas wish to all.-- On this day, let's share love, chocolates and cakes; be full of compassion, gratitude, and shower affection.-- You and family have a #MerryChristmas-- Be blessed with abundance of joys of life ❤”

Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma tweeted, “May the grace of Jesus Christ light our homes with peace and fill our hearts with love and joy. May kindness and warmth surround you and your loved ones. From my family to yours, #MerryChristmas2019.”

Tripura CM Biplab Kr Dev wished, “Merry Christmas !-- May this festival further strengthen the bonds of amity, peace, and harmony in our society.-- May Jesus Christ bless us all for happiness and prosperity.”
