Guwahati, May 10, 2019:

The State Government of Assam in an official notification has announced to relax rules in regards to the National Register of Citizen (NRC) verification process.

The Government also mentioned in the notice that one does not have to go out of the districts to attend the hearings of claims and objections filed against them.

The notification came up after complaints were raised as people have to travel long distances outside the districts to attend the hearings. To overcome this inconvenience, the Home and Political Department of Assam Government has put up an advertisement informing that people do not have to travel long distances.

The notification also stated that those who have already undergone the process and furnished their documents but are yet to complete Bio-Metric requirements can complete the process within the district they are living.
