The National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Saraigrwa (NDFB-S) opposing the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 said that the bill is a threat to the existence of the Bodo community.

The banned militant outfit reportedly warned the Central government not to pass the controversial bill as it might bring the existence of the indigenous community of the region at a threat. The outfit has asked all the Bodo youths to come forward and openly oppose the bill and the “conspiracy” related to it.

It may be mentioned that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, aims to provide citizenship to illegal Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jains, Parsis and Christian migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan in India.
