Guwahati, March 3, 2019:

Assam’s martyr son Maneswar Basumatary’s ‘Adya Shraadh’ (funeral ceremony) will be held at his residence in Tamulpur today. Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary, along with other top leaders of the state, will attend the ‘shraadh’ ritual. Thousands of people are expected to attend the ritual ceremony to pay their respects to the fallen hero. Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary will inaugurate a memorial book dedicated to Assam's martyr son.

It is to be mentioned that CRPF head constable Maneswar Basumatary was one of the 49 CRF personnel who was martyred during the bombing of a CRPF convoy by a Jaish-e-Mohammed militant Ali Ahmad Dar.
