The South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) of Ministry of Culture, Government of India has been organizing Madhya Dakshini Festival 2019 in collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) scheduled from April 25 to April 28 in four venues of Guwahati.
The inauguration of the festival was organized at Shilpgram of NEZCC at Panjabari today.
In this festival, around 100 folk artists from Central India, states from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh will be performing vibrant and colorful folk dances showing the rich cultural heritage of India.
The folk artists from the states will perform Songi Mukhate Nritya, Bhagoriya, Fagwa, Gudum Baja Nritya, Gedi Nritya, Karma Dance and Daderi Nritya. At the same time, the 50 folk and classical artists of Assam will perform the rich and popular dance forms like Bihu, Rabha Folkanti Nritya, Tiwa Lalilang Nritya and Jhumur Nritya in the festival.
The venues of the festival are Shilpgram of Guwahati (April 27), Royal Global University of Guwahati (April 26) and Sonapur near Guwahati (April 28).
