Conclave on child rights by MHI in Guwahati

Guwahati (Assam), September 28, 2018:

My Home India (MHI), a social organisation for bridging the gap between the people from the Northeast and the rest of India, organized a talk on “Child Rights and Social Responsibility” at NEF Law College in Guwahati on Friday.

The talk was organised as a part of MHI’s country-wide initiative to sensitize youth towards the protection of children’s rights with a special focus on the Northeast.

The chief speaker at the talk was Yashwant Jain, Member of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

Jain threw light on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. He also talked about the rights of children and the responsibilities that have to be shouldered by the society.

He asserted that the children of the nation must be protected if India wants to protect and build future.
