DISPUR: "Congress-AIUDF bhai bhai, bye bye in 2021" chants rang out in Assam's Assembly earlier today amid protests by the Opposition parties during the ongoing Winter Session of the Assembly that commenced today.

Although the posposed alliance seems to have hit a roadblock, AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal remains optimistic about forging an alliance ahead of the Assembly Elections next year.

AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has said that talks on the Congress-AIUDF alliance for the upcoming state assembly elections are at the final stage.

"Today I shall introduce a Bill to repeal Provincialisation of Madrassa. Once the Bill is passed, the practice of running Madrassa by the Government in Assam will come to an end, a practice which was started by Muslim League govt in pre-Independence Assam," Sarma wrote in a tweet ahead of the commencement of the 3-Day Assembly Session in Dispur.
