Congress demo in Guwahati against demonetisation

Guwahati, November 8, 2018:

Opposition Congress in Assam staged a protest outside the office of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Guwahati on Thursday against demonetisation.

The protestors took out a march and staged the demonstration. During the protest, the protesting Congress workers were involved in mild scuffles with the policemen on duty. The police detained dozens of protestors, including Pradesh Congress chief Ripun Bora. Later, they were released.

The Congress tweeted about the demonstration: “@INCAssam protested in front of RBI, Guwahati against the devastating effects of Demonetization in India's economy. Sri Ripun Bora, President APCC, Sri Tarun Gogoi, Assam, Sri Debabrata Saikia, and a large number of leaders and workers participated in the protest. @RahulGandhi”.
