GUWAHATI: Ahead of the ensuing Assembly elections in Assam, the state unit of the Indian National Congress (INC) today officially launched its 'Axom Basaon Ahok' to counter the rival BJP's 100+' campaign that has already picked up steam.
Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi, who is also the Chairman of the manifesto committee which is inviting opinions from all citizens, said, "We have to save Assam from ego, we have to save BJP from torture, we have to save Assam from conflict. The BJP party has relentlessly tortured the poor. While filling the pockets of the rich, they have hurt the interests of the poor."

The BJP's politics of polarization seeks to tear the very fabric of the state apart. We have to bring back secular culture to the state. We assure you and we promise you that we will save Assam from a government that is anti-people, anti-tea tribe, anti-development, as well as anti-woman."
