Congress seeks Rajen Gohain’s scalp

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora has demanded the resignation of Union Railways Minister Rajen Gohain following allegation of sexual abuse against him.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Bora said the charge against Gohain was very serious in nature and he should step down.

The senior Congress leader, who is also a Rajya Sabha Member, further accused the BJP of “politicising and communalising” the NRC issue.

He also reiterated the Congress party’s opposition to the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
