The construction work of the Assam’s longest flyover began today at Maligaon.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, public works department (PWD) and finance minister Dr.Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the construction of the longest flyover on Sunday.
The two-lane proposed flyover, which will cost Rs 420.75 crore and will be 2992-metre-long.
Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted,
"Today marks the auspicious start of construction work for Assam's longest flyover, a project worth Rs 420.75 cr, from Maligaon to Kamakhya Gate

Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal also tweeted saying,
"Another major infrastructure boost for Guwahati.
It will run from Maligaon to Kamakhya Gate with a diversion towards Pandu.
The nearly 3 km-long, is targeted to be completed within two years from the date of construction.
It is expected that it will reduce the traffic congestion in the city.
