DIBRUGARH: One more person died in Dibrugarh today after being infected with COVID-19.
The deceased has been identified as Manab Jyoti Dowerah, chief manager of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) at Lepetakta in the Dibrugarh district.
Dowerah, a resident of Kalpar Nagar area, is in Jorhat Tarajan died around 11 am today.

He was undergoing treatment at the Assam Medical College and Hospital since Saturday.
Four other employees of BCPL are also undergoing treatment for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, as many as 59,310 samples were tested and 590 people tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours with the positivity rate standing at 0.99 per cent.
Out of total 590 new cases, 249 were reported from Kamrup (M), 74 from Dibrugarh, 48 from Kamrup, and 25 from Jorhat.

Currently, the state has 2,924 active COVID-19 cases.
So far 76,83,483 tests have been conducted and 2,21,483 people have been diagnosed with the virus in the state.
