The severe cyclonic storm Fani (pronounced 'Foni) that is expected to ravage the coasts has everyone worried and the worry over the cyclonic storm has led the Indian Railways to cancel 81 trains including 3 in the North-East.
The trains from Assam which have been canceled are 12508 Silchar-Thiruvanantapuram Aronai Express; 12514 Guwahati-Secunderabad Express; 15929 Tambaram-Dibrugarh Express.
The 12508 Silchar-Thiruvanantapuram Aronai Express was scheduled to leave Silchar on Wednesday (May 1, 2019).
The 12514 Guwahati-Secunderabad Express which was scheduled to leave Guwahati on May 2, 2019, and the 15929 Tambaram-Dibrugarh Express which was scheduled to leave Tambaram for Assam’s Dibrugarh on May 2, 2019, have been canceled fearing mishap due to cyclonic storm ‘Fani’.
As per the Indian Meteorological Department’s weather forecast, heavy rains will hit North Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on Saturday.
