Guwahati, May 2, 2019:

38 religious pilgrims from Assam are stuck in Odisha at Assam House in Odisha due to the threat of the cyclone Fani (pronounced: Foni) which is expected to hit the coasts with a vengeance. A majority of the pilgrims are old-aged people.

As per reports, the tourists have been asked to vacate the Assam House on May 2nd, 2019 by 12 pm. The tourists have requested the Assam Government to take an initiative to help them reach home as the train services have been blocked due to the cyclone. They have requested the state government to help them with arrangements to stay in the state until they travel back home.

Meanwhile, the Odisha government has asked the tourists to leave the seaside pilgrim town of Puri near Odisha coast. As per the information provided the IMD, cyclone Fani is expected to hit Odisha at 205 kms/hr.
