Guwahati, February 22, 2019:

Death toll increases to 22 people in Golaghat district after drinking spurious liquor on Thursday night.

Speaking to InsideNE, Golaghat MLA Mrinal Saikia while condemning the incident said, “I am on my way to Golaghat. The investigation has been initiated and three persons have been arrested. A review meeting will be held at 7 pm in the evening today at Golaghat itself and we will come to a conclusion regarding this case very soon.”

Meanwhile, Golaghat Deputy Superintendent of Police, Partha Pratim Saikia said, “We have a record of 15 deaths as of now and 27 has been admitted at the Jorhat Medical College”

Out of these nineteen belongs to Salmara Tea Garden: Agni Gowala, Draupadi Orang, Bandhan Bauri, Bel Bhumij, Dulal Orang, Shuklal Pujar, Shanti Pujar, Binati Bhakt, Lalit Pujar, Mina Pujar, Sunita Pujar, Dhatuwar Tati, Sanju Orang, Pinki Bauri, Prabin Pujar, Mon Ghatowar, Sempi Karmakar and Bhakru Pujar

While Soneswar Gogoi and Ananda Bora belong to Noragaon, and Suren Gogoi belongs to Jogibari.
