Declared foreigners arrested in Assam-Bangladesh border at Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar, May 8, 2019:

In a major achievement for the Border Police Taskforce, six absconding declared foreigners have been apprehended by the police on Tuesday. As per the reports of the Border forces, over 700 people have been declared as foreigners by the Foreigners Tribunal. Operations to nab these foreigners are still on.

Among the six foreigners, three are male and three are female. They were declared as foreigners by the Foreigners Tribunal from 2006 through 2012. They were nabbed in a search operation by the Kokrajhar Border Task Force troops from Assam-Bangladesh border areas at Gosaigaon and Simultapu.

The apprehended foreigners have been identified as Samad Fakir alias Samad Ali, Muhammad Ali Sheikh, Pramod Das, Shyam Das, Majiran Bibi, and Rohitan Bibi.
