Following the heavy monsoon rain in the state of Assam, the road connectivity has been snapped off in many regions.
The increasing water level of the Brahmaputra river and its tributaries have been witnessed in many places of upper Assam in the Tinsukia district, parts of Dibrugarh district, and in Lower Assam’s Hajo, Nalbari, Baksa, etc.

The water level of different rivers in the area has crossed the normal level and as a result of this, connectivity has been highly affected. In many places, the National Highway has been blocked due to flooding.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), around 20,000 people of South Salmara Mankachar, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Chirang, Dhemaji, Nalbari districts are being affected due to the fresh flood.
Meanwhile, the Assam state government has issued high alerts in the regions prone to the flood.
