What kind of items can be expected inside a Government office? Piles of files, registers, and documents, right?

Well, we at InsideNE have a different picture for you. Somewhat bizarrely, a Government office in Assam’s Dhemaji district has turned into a clothes’ warehouse where employees freely participate in the transaction of clothes.

In the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Dhemaji Water Reserve Sub-division, the trademark piles of files of Government offices have been replaced with heaps of clothes which are being sold by the employees within the office space.

In fact, allegations have been raised against female employees of the office that they remain busy purchasing clothes during office hours, rather than performing their duties.

This sorry state of affairs inside a Government office in the state raises some serious questions.

It is indeed worrisome that at a time when there is a serious crisis of unemployment in the state with millions of people running after the ever-elusive Government job, people who are employed by the Government with high salaries are hardly contributing anything of note to society.
