Dipak Kumar Sarma new chief of APSC

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 23, 2018:

Dipak Kumar Sarma has been appointed at new the acting Chairman of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

The retired IAS official was the senior-most member in the Commission.

The APSC is in a major imbroglio and under tremendous public scrutiny following the infamous cash-for-job scam that rocked the Commission last year. It has been alleged that candidates paid cash to get jobs. The matter is under investigation and its then Chairman Rakesh Paul is behind the bars.
