Pro-talk United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) leader Mrinal Hazarika lashes out on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.
Speaking at a meeting organized by Asom Sangrami Mancha, Hazarika expressed that they would be compelled to repeat 1983 like situation to stop the government from passing the controversial bill.
The former commander of ULFA said that the 26 Bengali organization are now trying to shift the venue of the November 17 conclave from Khanapara to a Bengali dominated area like Lumding, Hojai or Lanka.
Hazarika reiterated that they need to stop these Bengali organizations from putting pressure on the government to pass the bill. He also said that if need arise, they would threaten the Bengali organizations of dire consequences for supporting the bill.
Threatening Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Hojai Shiladitya Deb, Hazarika said, “I want to warn Shiladitya Deb, who has been working against the interest of Assamese community, should refrain from doing so in the future.
